Jewelweed soap is a highly-prized natural urushiol oil barrier; and helps to ease the pain and itching of skin contact with poison ivy, poison oak and more.
To use as a barrier: Apply lather to the skin areas you'd like to protect. Allow the lather to soak in. Reapply as needed. Typically, every 1-3 hours.
To use to soothe pain and itching: Thoroughly wash affected skin areas to remove plant oils (30-60 seconds). Rinse, and then apply a thin layer of lather. Leave on the skin. Repeat as needed.
If you suspect that there is urushiol oil on surfaces of jackets, gloves, clothing, etc., launder as usual to remove oils before wearing.
Soap ingredients: Saponified oils of olive, organic palm and coconut; jewelweed tea and oatmeal.
